2 in one day

Jennifer McGuire has a new blog and a FABULOUS sharing handmade kindness month of fun.  The first challenge was to send something handmade to a friend or family member.  I made this card it will be heading off to a college friend.

We are also sending out a care package to a friend of the family who had a baby back in July (yes it has been sitting here that long).  We are also going to get a package sent off to my mother in law from August.  YIKES!!!!  We need to bone up on our package sending/mailing efforts.

Lonnnng time coming!

It feels like forever sense I have been in the stamping room.  Knitting has become my fun new hobby and there is only so much time LOL!

This is my birthday weekend and my hubby is working away, so the girls and I have declared it stamping/creating/crafting weekend and we are having a ball.  Only leaving for church and family breakfast yesterday.

This is for this weeks MIM on ribbon trees.  I water colored the background and used pti felt in neutral colors to create this beauty.  I didn't use fabric for the tree, but I think it still has the essence Melissa was going for and it is more PTI ribbon, so I am saying good LOL!

MIM Finally!!!

It has been forever sense I have entered a card in the PTI MIM challenge.  I have made a bunch, but haven't had time to upload it.  I LOVED the challenge this week.  It was easy to whip this card together with the new zig markers.  I am needing to bust these out and make a few more cards.

Ellen Hudson stamps in the house!!!

I have been eyeing Julie's stamps made at Elle Hudson.  LOVING the style and quality.  Had to whip up this fun card for the challenge they have going on here.  It is hard to see on this card, by I did add wink of stella to this cutie and it really helped the gems come to life.  I also colored this with the new zig markers that are in the house.  I have a need to bust these out again soon.

Blog Hop Time

I am so rusty with blogging, it has been forever!  This was for the PTI blog hop.  It seems that life got in the way of creating.  Not good.  Anyway, I made two seperate cards for this challenge.

I like the second card myself, more CAS.  What is your favorite?

My entries

Both are for the PTI MIM challenge.  It was really fun to go through the stash to see what pattern paper we had that worked together.  These look so much better IRL.  One day I will get a light table area fixed up for night photos LOL!

stamping the night away

Izzy and I had some much needed girl time in the stamping room.  She hasn't been into entering lately, but tonight she decided to let me take a picture of her and her art.  This is for the PTI MIM challenge on using boarders as anchors.  It is hilarious to me that she knows Betsy's work and now detailed it is.  After we got everything cut out she said is this a Betsy card LOL!
she really liked picking out all of the patterns and putting it together.

PTI MIM

I can't even express how fabulous the new release was for PTI.  The only sad part is I got sick and wasn't able to play with the goodies nearly as much as I would have liked to.
This cutie was done for the MIM challenge this week to use embossing paste and a cover plate as a stencil.  I found this one from stamp a faire and wanted to bust it out again.  I have never done one of these lose bunches of gold floss, but wanted to try.  Love the new vellum and gold sticky backed foil.  Nice!!!
Now to brag on the littles real quick.  Izzy my artsy genius above got best in show at the art show that means she was the best of her 2nd grade class with this piece of work above.  Love that girl!!!
Cece was happiest when she found this portrait of Queen Elsa.

Smile

this is a total Laura CASE.  I took her Craftsy class and loved it!  My biggest take away was to slow down and be okay with throwing things away.  It felt good to have this reminder.  I loved watching her step by step through the whole card without cutting the video to give highlights.  It was great seeing it all the way through and getting the tips as well.

This is for the PTI ombre challenge.

Heavy Metal

This is another never used card.  Okay I have to admit I was one of the crazies that was in Michaels the day after Christmas.  Izzy and I found these fun sets of card making kits 80% off.  I got a whole ton of premade put together cards (enough for 40).  I was intrigued by the gold and sliver backgrounds.
I added the back accents and the fun gold splatter.  This is for the PTI Heavy Metal neutral and metal cards.

Never Used....

I am digging all of the talk about uninked stamps and the PTI challenge to use a set that hasn't been inked.  It really has me going though my stash to see what I have that hasn't seen the light of day.  It was really quite insane, hello my name is Terri and I have a purchasing problem LOL!!!
Couple this challenge with the new quilt serries Betsy is coming out with and BAM I knew what I needed to create.  I have never busted out this quilt block and I purposely purchased it for the week that I was working on in my MM scrapbook from last year.  How stinking crazy is that?  I do think I will be done with the summer by the end of the month.  We all need goals LOL!

Stuck on Maile....

This is for the PTI use more than one flower from more than one stamp set on a card.  I was digging looking through Maile's blog and found this cutie and gave it a whirl.  I used 4 different flower sets.
It was interesting to find a sentiment that worked with Maile's chopping techinque.  It was really fun to dig through the sets.  I was shocked at how few flower sets I have, CRAZY!!!  In my head there were a lot more in my stash LOL!

PTI tag and matching bag Izzy style!

I was so excited to have a chance to head up and do some team stamping with Izzy.
We went on a total use the stuff you have kit, I mean serriously the stamping room is full of unloved goodies.  She colored this great cat and we made a fun shaker.  She picked all of the stamps/colors.
Turned out fab and her little friend is going to LOVE it!

Maile inspired

I really have been super excited about this announcement and getting Maile's CAS design style back in the line up.  Here is her original.  I changed the colors and sentiment, but didn't mess much with perfection.  If you would like to get in on the PTI action, here is the post.  Izzy is still reading LOL!

PTI Anniversary week is in full swing!

Nicole always starts her release posts with the most wonderful time of the month, but it is anniversary month, so it is the most wonderful time of the year!  I would have to agree on a crafting portion of my world.

This was for the color and sketch challenge.  I used the  challenges below.  It is odd this year as it is the first year that you can only enter once for each challenge.  I must admit I did like busting out all of the supplies and getting crafty.  Izzy is still going to create some and she is excited to get her inky grove on, but she has to finish her book first.  She is now reading to me while I stamp (she is my girl book, crafting and she loves math to boot LOL!).

Happy Blizzard Day!

This is for a MIM/MFT color challenge.  I am super excited to be able to get a MIM done on a Monday rare for this household for sure!  So grateful for our Illinois blizzard :)  Anyway, this was made for the Papertry Ink MIM challenge this week.  It is challenge number 200!  That seems crazy to type, but I must say it is still one of my favs.  I love the video with the challenge really unique.  I used the PTI cover plate for this challenge.  Actually I have two of the other line cover plates that have never seen some love, I am trying to fix that today!

Little shout out to Dawn, she challenged us to use unloved sets on the PTI forum.  I did just that with this My Favorite Things set.  I got the color inspiration from the MFT color challenge and thought why not LOL!

Confetti Garlands

Yes folks, I am busting out week 29 of 2014.  This is for the MIM this week on confetti garlands.  It was fun to do and I got to use the great new gold thread, so I say bonus LOL!!!Lots of fun happening in the summer over here.  It has been fun to look at all of the warm activities during this frozen tundra LOL!

Love the PTI blog hop and Runway challenge

I made this cutie for the PTI blog hop featuring hearts.  I'm not the biggest heart kind of gal, so this die cut helped me big time :)  This is the first time I have busted out my distress reinkers and I have to say I LOVE them and will be using them again for this technique.  I used tin types background stamp set and the love die cuts.  I have a few heart elements added as well.

the coloring was all inspired by the runway inspired challenge.  I was excited to have time to play with it and really loved how this turned out.

MIM Hugs

I was happy to have some time in the stamping room to create and play today!  It was actually really fun because Izzy is hooked on a book that I started reading and she is now reading the rest to me.  I love to hear her read!

Anyway, this was made for the MIM challenge this week to make a three panel card.  I am a cas kind of girl, so that is how I rolled.  The main background panel was made with tin types background.  I don't use it enough and loved the background.  I used watercolors on this one and the next card used reinkers.  I am loving how vibrant the reinkers turend out and need to remember to use them more :)

PTI MIM homemade thickers

This was a fun project and a much needed one.  I am pumped any time I learn something that uses what I have on hand and the PTI MIM this week is one of the best.  It will be well used and loved for my MM scrapbook.  I used the new to me type strips to finish off this cutie.  The background was made with distress inks and layered stencil inking.  I had to add some newly organized bling as wekk to round out this fun one.  I am entering this into the SSS Monday inky background challenge.  It was really fun to bust these out and give them a try.

MIM and MFT fun combo

Hello week 26!!!  Yes, we are in a new year, but I am excited to be done with half of last year wahooo!!!!!  This panel is for the  PTI MIM this week to add a fun corner for a design element.  I am also entering this into the MFT color challenge.  So excited for both.

I did do another card for my Mom and Dad's anniversary, but it just didn't turn out like I imagined.  I will be taking a mulligan on this one and trying again today.  Hopefully I get that posted.

MFT card challenge

I don't know about you, but MFT was kind of off my radar for a while.  I'm not really sure why, but it was.  Then they hired Susan and started a new blog and BAM!  Here we are.  In fact I knew I had some MFT but had no idea where they went after the big craft room switch that happened a few months ago, but we now have all of the sets located and organized so that we can find them again.  Another bonus, the girls LOVE these pure innocense stamps and want to order more.  Love it when they get involved and Dad picks up the crafting tab LOL!!!

This is for the MFT sketch challenge found here.  This is for a 13 year old little girl that was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.  It is the superintendent's daughter and it has really hit all of us hard.  Cece picked this one and we then paired it with the new PTI hugs set.  I think that one is great for so many cards!  It is the new never leaving the desk staple in my craft room LOL!

MIM Catch up week

Well hello long time without posting.  We have been crafting/creating powerhouses over here.  We made a TON of Betsy's ornaments for all of the teachers/dance teachers/librarians/horse caregiver (seriously it was like 45 ornaments!).  Izzy also did a lot of hand painted masterpieces.   She is really getting into creating and crafting.

Sense we have a throw back MIM challenge at PTI, I thought I would enter a throw back project that was never entered.  Can you even bellieve we are done with half of the school year?  I am just now scrapping my MIM book for July.  It is kind of fun to remember all of the warm things we did this year during the cold winter.

We made these fun tags and gifts for all of teachers in Izzy's school (yeah we give to all of her teachers, office staff, assistants basically anyone who she ever talks too LOL!).  We found great jars at Michaels and put water mix ups in them for everyone.

This was totally inspired by Laura's MIM about mixing background paste.  I LOVED how she created the stencil using the alphabet dies.  Really added a lot to the projects.  This is one the WHOLE family loved.  On that note, I am doing a new one for the MM week introduction page so there will be a new one done as well.  We only enter one a challenge now, so I might put it here, but it won't be official.  Have a great new year!
